Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information that may be collected during a visit, how it may be used, and when it may be disclosed. It applies to Martin County Court Docket and does not replace the privacy policies of linked government or third-party services.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Information entered into a search tool is submitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its own results. Martin County Court Docket does not keep a separate log of the search terms entered through the tool.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If an email is sent to us, the message may be retained to respond or maintain the correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, standard server and analytics tools may receive technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. They can help measure aggregate traffic and identify technical problems. Browser settings can block cookies, although some features may then behave differently.

How We Use Visit Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Understanding aggregate use of pages and features
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It publishes general routing information for Martin County District Court records, Martin County Court Administration, and Minnesota Court Records Online. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about third parties.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes on this site are powered by outside companies. Anything you enter into those tools is processed under the partner's own privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own data-retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. Review the partner's policy before submitting a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Minnesota Judicial Branch pages, city-government pages, or third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy governs that visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

We follow standard security practices to safeguard the data we collect. But nothing connected to the internet is bulletproof. We do what we can to keep your information secure, though we cannot promise a breach will never happen.

Users Under 18

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has shared data with us, reach out and we'll delete it right away.

Your Data Rights

Visitors may contact us to ask about information held in a direct correspondence. Court-file access is separate: Minnesota judicial records are governed by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch, Rule 8, not by this site’s visitor-data policy. For information kept in a direct correspondence, a visitor may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may change as site operations change. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date.
